2023 Quilt and Fiber Art Auction “In Rainbowland”

As the days get shorter and temperatures start to dip, GSAFE wants to help you get cozy while supporting our LGBTQ+ youth. We are inviting quilters and fiber artists to donate to our 4th Annual Quilt and Fiber Art Auction to be held Nov 28 – Dec 4. We appreciate your time, talent, and generosity in advance!
Theme: “In Rainbowland”
This year we’re encouraging donations inspired by the lyrics to the song “Rainbowland” by Miley Cyrus and featuring Dolly Parton. Earlier this year a school in Waukesha, WI prohibited a 1st grade class from performing it for their spring concert because it might be controversial. Their teacher voiced her concern about this and a long series of efforts to remove rainbows and other signs of support from district classrooms and hallways, and her tweet went viral, calling global attention to what’s happening in Waukesha and other school districts around Wisconsin and the country.
