2024 Quilt & Fiber Art Auction “Together”

As the days get shorter and temperatures start to dip, GSAFE wants to help you get cozy while supporting our LGBTQ+ youth. We are inviting quilters, crocheters, knitters, and other fiber artists to donate to our annual Quilt and Fiber Art Auction to be held Nov 26 – Dec 3. We appreciate your time, talent, and generosity in advance!
Here’s what you need to know:
Theme: “Together”
What to donate: We are looking for new, handmade, fiber-based donations of all shapes, sizes, and price points! The best items are ones that can easily be shipped to all 50 states, although we do accept some larger and/or fragile items that are designated “in-store pick up only. If in doubt, reach out with your item or idea. For quilts, lap size quilts and larger often do well. Please check out previous year pages for ideas of what to donate: 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023.
How to donate items: Please complete this auction donation form PDF or Google Doc (please make a copy before editing) and return by email or by mail. Please email quilts@gsafewi.org to make arrangements for mail or drop off. Items can be dropped off at the GSAFE office (122 E Olin Ave, Ste 100, Madison, WI 53713) or at Blue Bar Quilts (6333 University Ave, Middleton, WI 53562). Depending on capacity, we might be able to arrange for a Madison-area pickup.
Deadline: Now through October 31st in order to give our team time to catalog and photograph your item(s). Please drop us an email at quilts@gsafewi.org if you’re working on something and need a little longer.
I’m ready to quilt but don’t have supplies: We might have some quilt-quality fabric on hand for you to pick up. We’re also accepting donations of quilt-quality fabric (no small scraps), quilt kits, and high quality yarn. Please email us at quilts@gsafewi.org if you’re interested in either receiving and/or donating these items.
Does my quilt need to be fully finished? Completed quilts are desired. Depending on availability, our small crew of volunteers might be able to assist in finishing your quilt. Please email us with questions!
I’m not a quilter, but I make a mean afghan/scarf/handbag/etc. Can I contribute? Yes, we invite our creators to donate a wide range of new, handmad, fiber art items in all shapes, sizes, and price points. We’re more than quilts! Please reach out to us first at quilts@gsafewi.org to let us know what you’re thinking of submitting. If your item doesn’t work for this particular auction, we might be able to include it in our May scholarship event silent auction.
