Sun Prairie GSA Creates Resource Guide for School Staff!
In February of 2012 the Gender and Sexuality Acceptance (GSA) Club at Sun Prairie High School began researching and compiling resources and tools to put in a binder. With the help of a local generous donor, the GSA was able to print up and put together a binder for all 118 staff members at their high school. Entitled “Step One: A Resource Guide for Addressing Discrimination”, the binder is meant to be a comprehensive guide of activities, information, and pointers for addressing discrimination in the classroom.
On May 22nd, the students were given time at a staff meeting to present the binder and talk about some of the resources that it contains. Here is an overview of its contents:
- Laws and Policies
- Gender
- Sexual Orientation
- Socioeconomic status
- Physical and Mental Conditions
- Religion
- Additional Resources
