GSAFE works in collaboration with the parents and family members of LGBTQ+ youth to learn how to better understand the needs of their children, create an inclusive, supportive family environment, and be an advocate in their child’s schools if issues (such as bullying) arise.

Unfortunately, youth who are targets of anti-LGBT bullying and gender harassment – regardless of their real or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity – often are at greater risk for negative physical, mental, and academic outcomes.
