Wisconsin’s Pupil Non-Discrimination law (state stat. 118.13) states that it is illegal to discriminate against a student because of their real or perceived sexual orientation.  If you or are experiencing discrimination (including harassment or behavior that makes you feel unsafe at school) because of your real or perceived sexual orientation you have a right to file an official discrimination with your school.

Follow this link for a pdf version of the law and the steps you need to follow when making a complaint with your school.  .

Unfortunately, Wisconsin does not currently provide protections on the basis of gender identity/expression.  Gender non-conforming students are often the targets of anti-gay name calling and harassment, however, which is behavior prohibited by state law.
